Frequently Asked Questions

Honestly, you don’t. Many clients’ career advancement has been a result of networking or promotions with one employer, and this may be the case for you. However, this approach may limit your professional opportunities. If you find yourself looking for more in the workplace, a professionally crafted resume can help you get there.

In our digital age, just as a social media presence is essential to connect with new acquaintances, friends, and family members, a professional networking presence is a crucial introduction to future employers and professional contacts. We used to hear that employers or new contacts would “Google you”. Now, they will likely search for you on LinkedIn. In addition, LinkedIn has a range of tools for recruiters, employers, schools, and organizations to search for talent. You may be sought out for a role you never knew existed or never knew was perfect for you.

“The career coach guides a client in expressing his [or her] career dreams, desires, and goals. The career coach builds a relationship with a client and serves as an accountability partner as the client moves towards a new career path. Career coaches train, listen, inspire, lead, prompt, encourage, tutor, query, and act as the Career Search Strategy Development Director for the client. Career coaches are sounding boards, taskmasters, mentors, and Chief Motivational Officers.

Clients need guidance in clarifying their purpose for seeking employment or to improve performance, and career coaches partner with clients to identify the career purpose and achieve career results. Career coaches collaborate with clients and brainstorm to develop career ideas — they do not directly offer advice. There are times, however, when the career coach may ask permission to offer advice or engage the client in specific training, i.e., interview training or image consulting. Career coaches meet clients where they are now — focusing on today and the future through goals and values development.”

Long gone are the days when job seekers could create strong resumes on their own or have a friend or family member create one for them. With the rise of job search sites, employers have seen applications increase exponentially. To keep up with this trend, they have utilized automated systems to make recruitment, resume review, and even interviewing more efficient. Certified Professional Resume Writers and Career Coaches are equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate this ever-changing landscape.

Particularly, writing an effective resume through the process of researching, gathering information, designing, writing, re-writing, condensing, revising, and editing the first draft can total 10-20 hours of work. A strategic approach can often turn futile job-search efforts into successful results that have landed clients more interviews and led to increases in salary from the $5K to $80K range, including roles within more positive working environments, with stronger benefits and bonuses, and with additional opportunities for advancement. The ROI (Return on Investment) is immeasurable.

You might start with a discovery call or a purchase or send us an email. In the discovery call, I will listen to what your challenges and goals are and propose the best solution I can. If you choose to move forward, your first step is an intake call or initial consulting session. For writing services, you will receive the first drafts of your documents after seven business days. Following this is a collaborative and iterative revising process to ensure the documents align with your voice and expectations. After finalizing the documents or concluding consulting sessions, I encourage clients to keep in touch regarding their progress and offer continued support.
Contact us! In working with other companies, I often hear clients say, “I got my resume done before, but…” having gone to two or three different writers or services and potentially never receiving what they have paid for. This is heartbreaking. I believe I am accountable for giving you the tools and materials to deliver results, and I will continue to work with you to help you achieve your goals.
Be sure to look through the full list of services. Aside from full packages, there are other services that can support you through an in-depth review of your resume, assist with tailoring your resume, or may align more with your goals. Also, professionals can join our waitlist for discounted services, particularly for those recently laid off. Lastly, feel free to schedule a discovery call or send an email! I am happy to give you tips and provide assistance wherever I can!

TFP Founder & President

“How are people doing it?” “It” being surviving, managing, thriving.

Many years ago, as the realities of adulthood began to pile up, I found myself constantly asking this question. Like shakily handling the blocks of a Jenga tower, I tried to carefully balance each aspect of my life and avoid what felt like an inevitable avalanche of overwhelming responsibilities. Work. Relationships. Parenting. Money Management. Home Care. Car Maintenance. Self-Care. Personal Development. Professional Development. Community Work. Health. Fun. Sleep. It has felt and sometimes still feels like way too much.
What I found has helped calm my overwhelm is gaining more knowledge and leveraging this knowledge to make intentional investments in those crucial aspects of my life: my relationship with myself, with others, and with work.

My passions have always been in learning and communications. I love making continuous and meaningful learning easy for others. I love writing and communicating in ways that are clear, meaningful, and beautiful. I love making work and the process of finding meaningful work incrementally and exponentially better for as many people as possible. I have been fortunate to be able to combine these with The Foundations Project.

A University of Toronto alum, I specialized in professional writing, communications, and sociology. Dedicated to continuing education, I have completed numerous courses and obtained additional certifications in career coaching, teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL), phonics and reading, business planning, data analysis, marketing, LinkedIn optimization, and negotiation—a list that consistently grows.
